4 Core are manual lawn corer/aerator, which have or 4 coring tines.
The coring tines remove plugs up to 126mm long and 12.7 (or 1/2") in diameter to increase air and water flow to the roots of the turf and soil reducing compaction in the process.

First manual aerator I’ve used that’s actually pulled cores out. Third times the charm I guess. Built to last and do the job, not to look good and compact soil further like the mass produced rubbish at the big green shed.
One question - when the day comes where I need to sharpen the tynes, what method should I use ?

Disappointed in the ability to pierce the lawn, no matter how much effort I put into this there was no change. Handle was not suitable to take extra manipulation
